Having worked in a supermarket before, you will already be familiar with the ins and outs of the checkout department. As the Checkout Manager, it will be up to you to ensure the department runs smoothly and everything fits together.

You like keeping busy, and there is a lot to do! During your usual day you will be working in tandem with your team of Supervisors to manage a large team of staff, ensuring customers are getting through the checkouts quickly and ending their shopping experience happy and satisfied.

In the office, you will spend time crafting effective rosters to cover the stores' 7 day opening hours, factoring in your approved staff leave, all whilst working within a budget.

You will need to provide support for new and existing team members, ensuring they are looked after, trained and prepared to meet the departments needs. With the assistance of your Supervisors, you will also be responsible for resolving customer complaints, enquiries and reviewing customer feedback.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Supermarket experience at the Supervisory level, or previous experience as a 2IC
A strong work ethic and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office etc)
Understand the importance of roster management to ensure adequate staffing at all times
Excellent command of written and spoken English
A Managers' Certificate, LCQ and/or Lotto TOPS Certificate would be advantageous to your application.

This role will require you to demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, organizational and “people” skills, as well as a real desire to make a positive impact across the board.

Tapuwae Dairies, located in the North Island, is one of six dairy farms owned by an equity partnership totaling 5450 cows in the King Country region. Of that, Tapuwae milks 800 on an effective Dairy Platform of 238 ha. There is a great infrastructure that includes a 50 bail dairy shed with ACRs and well-maintained outbuildings. Included with this role is a very modern 3-bedroom house with an internal garage and fenced off yard for the successful couple or applicants. The farm is operating with 4 staff members, which are overseen by an Operations Manager who also oversees another two other units within the business.

About the roles:

We are seeking a couple (or 2 individuals that can house share). Salary $38-40K each + house @ $250/wk. (total package of $93K for a couple), very competitive compared to town salaries. We are currently working a roster of 12:2, and expected hours are 100 hr/fortnight and if over hours will be topped up in busy times of the season.

We are looking for a couple/2 x individuals who want a career in dairying and to grow themselves and the business. Training and support on-farm as well as through ITO courses are provided as you will be encouraged to enhance your industry capabilities.
