Ko te Rāmere I tenei! (It’s Friday today!) Hope everyone has had the chance to kōrero Māori this week. If not, here’s a few simple words you can say!
Learning to read/speak a new language can be quite difficult, but even learning a few simple words can make a big difference in making Aotearoa’s (New Zealand’s) native language stronger! 🌿
Julian Williams of Ngāti Makirangi and Waikato iwi, is leading the charge to encourage Rangatahi to take up the Kaitiakitanga (environmental guardian) mantle with their careers. He currently runs his own business (Te Huia Natural Resources Ltd) which focuses on natural resource consultancy with local Councils, Iwi, Hapū and community groups.
“Advice from my Mum: if you’re not earning, you’re learning. One or the other. Even if it’s learning an instrument! Keep your mind going and learn something until you’ve worked out what you want to do.” 🌿
